On the fifth and final day of the second Test against Pakistan in Karachi, captain Pat Cummins bowled opener Abdullah Shafique four runs short of a century, giving Australia a long-awaited breakthrough.
With the score on 249, Cummins struck eight minutes before noon, ending an amazing third-wicket partnership of 228 between Shafique and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.
Pakistan, pursuing a record 506-run goal, headed to lunch at 254-3, with Azam unbeaten on 133 and Fawad Alam on three, needing another 252 runs to win or, more likely, bat through the last 62 overs for a battling draw.
