MOSCOW (AFP) – After London slapped sanctions on Russia for its military action in Ukraine, Moscow said on Saturday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson and many other top UK officials would be denied entrance.
“This measure was made in response to London’s unrelenting information and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia globally, creating circumstances for limiting our country, and choking the home economy,” stated the foreign ministry in a statement.
The ministry accused London of “extraordinary unfriendly acts,” alluding specifically to sanctions imposed on Russia’s top leaders.
“The British leadership is purposefully exacerbating the situation in Ukraine by arming the Kyiv government and coordinating similar activities on behalf of NATO,” the ministry added.
