On Monday, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi spoke on the phone with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and discussed current regional and global challenges.
The UNSG chairman was briefed by the Foreign Minister about India’s so-called “accidental” fire of a missile on March 9, 2022, which landed in Pakistani territory. He said it was a flagrant breach of Pakistani airspace, demonstrating India’s contempt for aviation safety and regional peace and stability. Pakistan continues to behave with moderation and responsibility, according to the Foreign Minister.
Foreign Minister Qureshi and Secretary-General Guterres also addressed Pakistan-UN collaboration, particularly peacekeeping and resolving the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 triple global crises, sustainable development, and climate change.
