On Wednesday, President Arif Alvi gave his approval for the appointment of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as Pakistan’s Chief Justice.

With effect starting on September 17, 2023, when Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial reaches the retirement age, the president appointed the Chief Justice in accordance with Article 175 A(3) of the Constitution.

On September 16, 2023, Chief Justice Bandial will leave his position.
