In its decision on the ECP’s contempt case brought against the PTI chairman, the Lahore High Court (LHC) appointed a full bench.

On October 4, a three-person full bench, presided over by Justice Aalia Neelum, would hear the petitions. Justice Shehram Sarwar Ch and Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural are additional judges on the bench.

The petitions have argued that the ECP lacked the authority necessary to act in response to a contempt of court offense.

“ECP is not a court; it is an institution. According to the constitution, only courts are authorized to use the contempt of court rules, according to the petitions.
