The sentencing for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s connection to Al-Azizia was suspended by the Punjab government on Tuesday.

The Punjabi government had been asked to overturn the PML-N leader’s conviction. The former prime minister requested with the Punjab government for the suspension of his sentence in his request, citing the Islamabad High Court’s ruling.

The elder Sharif’s sentence was approved for suspension by the interim Punjab administration.
