The contempt of Election Commission (ECP) case against the PTI president took a nasty turn on Tuesday when the electoral body summoned the interior secretary for failing to comply with its order to present the party head before it.

Shoaib Shaheen, the PTI chairman’s attorney, stood before the ECP and informed the panel that his client could not be brought because the interior secretary had declared that the man’s life was in danger.

It was a slight against the ECP, according to attorney Shaheen. The PTI Chairman had been given production directions by the panel, but they were never carried out, he said.
