Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has selected Barrister Gohar to lead the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Contradictory remarks inside the PTI had caused uncertainty over the approaching intra-party elections for the role of party chairman, which has historically been held by Imran Khan.

Sher Afzal Marwat, Senior Vice-President, stated that Khan will not run owing to legal problems, identifying Barrister Gohar Khan as his selected replacement.

If carried out, Imran Khan’s two-decade term as party chairman will come to an end.

Following directions from the Election Commission of Pakistan, the PTI’s Core Committee recommended holding the elections within 20 days.

Barrister Gohar Khan, a well-known lawyer, is expected to run for the position of chairman.
