RAWALPINDI: The federal government sent a two-person delegation to meet with JI emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, which included the information minister Atta Tarar and Fazal Chaudhry. The group asked Rehman to end the sit-in, but the Jamaat chief declined, agreeing to speak with them on Sunday instead.

There is still no decision on the parley’s time or location. Under the direction of JI Naib emir Liaquat Baloch, a four-person committee has been established by JI. This group will choose the meeting’s location and time after consulting with government representatives.

Speaking to the government, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has stated that there is no problem, restating the JI’s position that it will not back down from its demands.
