WASHINGTON The State Department of the United States declared its backing for the formation of a provisional administration in Bangladesh.
U.S. State Department spokeswoman Matthew Miller said during a recent news conference that the country was keeping a careful eye on the situation in Bangladesh, where a number of people had died in recent days.
He underlined that in order to guarantee responsibility, these fatalities must be thoroughly and openly investigated.
Miller emphasized that the handover of power must adhere to the Bangladeshi constitution and reiterated that the US was standing with the people of that country.
He also called on all sides in Bangladesh to exercise patience and moderation.
