LAHORE (Channel News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to transfer the next three-nation ODI series to Lahore and Karachi.

“Given the advanced stage of preparations at Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium, the PCB has decided to relocate the upcoming tri-nation ODI series to these two venues,” according to a press release.

The series, which included New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan, was initially slated to take place in Multan.

This decision demonstrates the PCB’s trust in the improved venues’ readiness and ability to provide a world-class experience for players, officials, and spectators alike. Further information on the series will be released in due course.

It reported that preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 were underway, with the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi nearing completion as tournament venues.

In a regular update, the PCB informed fans, spectators, and the media that all upgrade work was on track and would be finished by or around the dates.

Upgrades at the Gaddafi Stadium

Gaddafi Stadium’s spectator capacity has been doubled to 35,000, with additional seats put around the arena.

Additionally, 480 cutting-edge LED lights have been placed to boost broadcast LUX levels, providing exceptional viewing quality for fans globally. Next week, two massive digital replay displays (80 feet by 30 feet and 22 feet x 35 feet) will be built to improve the spectator experience even further. The stadium is scheduled to be opened in the last week of January.

A brand-new hospitality enclosure for players and officials has also been erected, and it will be operational by January 25. The landmark stadium promises to create an unforgettable experience for all stakeholders.
