ISLAMABAD : Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the former prime minister and leader of the Awam Pakistan Party, emphasized that adherence to the Constitution is essential to the stability and security of the nation.

Speaking at a Seerat Conference in Mari Indus, Abbasi claimed that the best way to overcome Pakistan’s problems is to guarantee constitutionally sound administration.

Justice must be the cornerstone of decision-making if we hope to advance as a country. “Implementing the Constitution is the straightforward solution to our country’s problems,” he said.

“It is regrettable that we have strayed from the Constitution,” the former premier said, voicing concern over the nation’s departure from constitutional standards. Only by following the guidelines Allah has provided us with will we be able to make progress in life. Even though all Pakistani constitutional office holders swear to support the Constitution, citizens are nevertheless left wondering about their own and the nation’s future.

Abbasi added that although Pakistanis are among the world’s most giving people, many of them are reluctant to pay their taxes. Additionally, he said that in religion, ideological disagreements are not really important.

He cited international responses to the Gaza crisis, noting that Western countries had expressed support with Palestinians.
