Terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express, a passenger train traveling through the Bolan Pass in Balochistan, and held numerous people hostage inside a tunnel, security sources said on Tuesday.

According to security reports, thirteen terrorists have been killed in the continuing operation in response to the Jaffar Express attack, while numerous more have been injured.
The terrorists, who have been divided into separate groups as a result of the operation, are engaging in a fierce firefight with security personnel. According to security sources, injured passengers were immediately brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Additional security troops have been sent in the region to assist with the operation, ensuring that the situation is under control, they added.

According to security officials, forces have successfully liberated 80 hostages held by terrorists. The rescued people comprise 43 men, 26 women, and 11 children. They stated that efforts are already underway to securely release the other passengers.

According to sources, the net has been tightened around the terrorists, and the operation will continue until the last terrorist is destroyed. Security officers are committed to successfully resolve the issue and ensure the safety of all hostages.

According to reports, the terrorists halted the Jaffar Express within Tunnel No. 8 and took possession of it, keeping the passengers hostage.

Despite the difficult terrain and isolated location, security personnel quickly encircled the place and launched a clearance operation to eliminate the assailants and release the captives.

The captives include several women and children, and security officials affirm that the terrorists are in communication with their mastermind in Afghanistan. According to security officials, the operation will continue until all terrorists are destroyed and the hostages are successfully released.

Security sources criticized the targeting of innocent citizens, stating that the terrorists’ activities are completely unrelated to Islam, Pakistan, or Balochistan. The clearance operation is still continuing, and more information will be issued as the situation progresses, they said.

Security sources revealed that the terrorists responsible for the horrific attack on the Jaffer Express are in communication with their mastermind in Afghanistan.According to accounts, terrorists have used women and children as human shields, complicating the operation.

The deployment of human shields, along with the difficult terrain, has necessitated extraordinary prudence in the operation, according to reports. Security troops have pledged to continue the operation till the last terrorist is eliminated.

Following the incident, reports claimed that Indian and anti-state social media platforms had become abnormally active. Since the incident, Indian media, social media sites, and anti-state accounts have persistently circulated misinformation, falsehoods, and propaganda.

Attempts to instill fear through the dissemination of false news have been documented, with sources reporting that old movies, AI-generated material, obsolete photos, phony WhatsApp messages, and posters are being utilized. This is part of a failed attempt to agitate the public via a fraudulent social media campaign, security sources acknowledged.

Furthermore, social media accounts linked to terrorists are apparently assisting Indian media in propagating anti-Pakistan propaganda. According to reports, the Indian media is deceiving the people by presenting the analysis of self-exiled Baloch leaders residing outside Pakistan.

According to insiders, the public should rely on verified sources for real information, rather than the false misinformation that is now spreading on social media.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan administration has despatched rescue teams following reports of heavy fire on the Jaffer Express. The government has declared an emergency at Sibi Hospital, with ambulances and security personnel rushing to the scene of the tragedy.

However, Balochistan spokesperson Shahid Rind stated that officials are having difficulty accessing the spot owing to the rough terrain. “The railway department has sent more trains to the site to provide rescue,” he mentioned.

Rind added, “The scope of the event and the likelihood of terrorist components are being determined. The Balochistan government has ordered that emergency measures be implemented, and all institutions stay operational.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi criticized the incident, saying, “The beasts who open fire on innocent passengers do not deserve any concessions.” He also expressed hope for the quick recovery of those injured in the incident.
