LAHORE: According to Channel News, 28 additional Saudi Arabian detainees were released on Tuesday and have arrived in Lahore.

The released Pakistanis boarded a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight heading for Lahore, marking the latest in a series of Saudi Arabian prisoner release efforts.

The Pakistanis were returned to the country at the expense of the government. Seven of the freed inmates are from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district of Mohmand.

Mohmand district includes Hayyatullah, Zahid Khan, Rahimullah, Imran Khan, Ghulam Khan, Muhammad Ismail, and Ubdellah. Other freed detainees include Lower Dir’s Satraj Khan, Sialkot’s Muhammad Zubair, Rahmat Shah, and Swat’s Shabir Shah.

Charsadda’s Safdullah and Nihar Ahmed, Hangu’s Ikramullah Shah, Mardan’s Izat Khan, and Peshawar’s Syed Muhammad are all from Peshawar.

As a result of the efforts, 65 detainees were freed and landed in Islamabad late last month, on July 20.
Last month, it was claimed that 62 Pakistani detainees were returned to the nation from Saudi Arabia following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives before Eid.
