According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday about the developing situation in Afghanistan and bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Imran Khan reminded Putin that a peaceful, safe, and stable Afghanistan was critical for Pakistan and the region. He stated that an inclusive political settlement, along with Afghans’ safety and security, was the best way forward.
The prime minister emphasised that the international community must remain engaged in Afghanistan to help its people, saying that the world must solve the country’s humanitarian issue as well as its economic sustainability.
Pakistan, according to Prime Minister Khan, places a great value on the function of the Troika Plus arrangement. He expressed pleasure with the improving trajectory of Pakistan-Russia ties, which has seen more high-level interactions and expanding collaboration between the two nations in a variety of sectors.
The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening economic relations and bilateral partnership in the energy sector, particularly the expeditious completion of the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline Project. The two presidents committed to work together closely inside the SCO to achieve regional peace and security.
PM Khan asked Putin to visit Pakistan during a phone call between the two leaders.
