LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi revoked all powers from Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari on Wednesday.

According to facts, on the topic of calling a session of the Punjab Assembly, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Mazari’s directives were deemed ineffectual, and the procedures taken to convene a session were deemed illegal.

According to the Punjab Assembly’s spokesman, the session will be place on April 16, and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has withdrawn all of the Deputy Speaker’s powers. There was no record of the Deputy Speaker’s directives or a diary number.

The Punjab Assembly will meet on April 6th, according to the Deputy Speaker.

Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari, the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, has called a session of the Punjab Assembly on April 6, 2022 (Wednesday), according to Dunya News.

Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari, the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, has called a special session for the election of the Chief Minister under Article 130 of the Constitution.

It’s worth noting that the Punjab Assembly had already been called to session on April 16 at 11:30 a.m.

In his order, the deputy speaker stated that instead of the previously scheduled date of April 16 at 11:30 a.m., the next sitting of the Punjab Assembly’s 40th session will be conducted on April 6 (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m.

A candidate must receive at least 186 votes in the 371-member house to be elected as chief minister.

Meanwhile, PTI members stormed a hotel in Gulberg on Monday, where hundreds of PML-N MPs were sleeping with stubborn PTI parliamentarians.

Inside the hotel, they chanted anti-PML-N slogans and demanded that the PML-N free its parliamentarians, estimated to number approximately 20.

As the charged workers attempted to force their way inside the hotel, several PML-N MPs began shouting anti-Imran Khan chants, worsening the situation.

Furthermore, Hamza Shehbaz, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, has warned that the PA deputy speaker may suspend over 40 opposition and PTI MPs from voting in the key session.

He also advised Imran Khan against seeing Pakistan as his own property and engaging in unlawful behaviour.
