Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has been sworn in as a federal minister.

The PPP Chairman was sworn in by Pakistan’s President, Arif Alvi.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar, and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The news comes after Qamar Zaman Kaira, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, indicated last week that his party’s chief will take the oath in two days.

Bilawal was present when the first members of the federal cabinet were sworn in, although he did not take the oath.
