The government banned the import of non-essential and luxury commodities on Thursday in an effort to arrest the rupee’s depreciation, improve the economy, and lessen the country’s dependency on imports.

She stated the country’s economy has been damaged for the past four years, and the currency has devalued to an all-time low of Rs189, during the four years of imported government, advisers, and spokespersons, at a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

Vehicles, mobile phones, home appliances, dry and fresh fruits, crockery, private firearms, decorating items, preserved and frozen food items, sanitary where, doors and windows, beauty and confectionary goods are among the luxury imported things, according to her.
