ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Wednesday that a by-election for 20 general seats in the Punjab Assembly will be held on July 17.

The ECP has established a timeline for elections on 20 provincial seats that were vacated after PTI defectors were deposed.

Nomination papers for the by election could be submitted from June 4 to 7, according to the schedule. The ECP announced that the nomination documents will be scrutinised on June 11.
