KARACHI (Web Desk) – Bulls won at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on the final trading day of the year on Friday, with equities rising 615 points.
At 2:58pm, the benchmark KSE-100 index was up 614.7 points, or 1.55 percent, to 40,362.09.
Analysts ascribed the increasing trend to year-end purchasing by investors and hopes of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) ninth review being completed.
The stock market stayed in the green for the most of the day. Oil and gas, autos, commercial banks, and fertilisers were all up, while medicines were down.
On Thursday, the index finished at 39,747.36, a rise of 467.93 points or 1.19%.
