LAHORE (Web Desk) – Mahira Khan, one of Pakistan’s top performers, discusses how art is impacted by negative relations between nations.
Mahira made her Bollywood debut in “Raees” a few years ago, but despite playing a significant role, she was unable to participate in promotional interviews because to the hostility between India and Pakistan. It occurred at a time when Indian authorities had banned Pakistani artists.
She said, “I had the most incredible time working in India,” when asked about her experience. There is a lot of affection among the many folks I am still in contact with. Unfortunately, whether we are in Pakistan or they are in India, we are both vulnerable targets and easy prey. We genuinely understand one another because we are all artists and are bound together by the thread of art.
So, more than anything, we’re trying to watch out for one other, she said. Even now, we take great caution while posting anything to social media. It’s not that we don’t communicate with one another. It’s not like we don’t send each other birthday wishes. It’s not like we never cross paths in other nations. It’s only that we are truly safeguarding one other as well as ourselves, not just ourselves.
