ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – PTI chairman Imran Khan was summoned by Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar on Friday for questioning in the Toshakhana issue.

The former prime minister is accused of improperly accepting gifts from the Toshakhana. The judge denied Mr Khan’s motion to dismiss the matter and ordered him to appear in court.

Mr Khan’s counsel argued at the hearing on two counts, claiming that the Election Commission of Pakistan’s petition was “non-maintainable” and that the sessions court had jurisdiction to hear the case.

However, the court denied both petitions and ordered Mr Khan to appear in person for the indictment on May 10. Mr Khan had earlier appeared at the capital court complex, but owing to the commotion caused by the presence of PTI workers, he was permitted to register his attendance in his vehicle.

The presents included royal watches, which Mr Khan reportedly sold in Dubai. Mr Khan had been disqualified in several ways by the ECP. The committee has also that criminal charges be brought against the PTI head.
