ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ruled that former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s detention was ‘legitimate,’ according to Channel News.
According to information, the reserved judgement was declared by the Islamabad High Court, and the Interior Secretary and IG Islamabad were handed contempt court letters.
Justice Aamer Farooq, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), heard the case challenging Imran Khan’s detention. The prosecutor general and the Director General (DG) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared before the Supreme Court.
The NAB officers said that they had sent a letter to the interior ministry requesting the arrest of the PTI head. Nobody is above the law, according to the IHC CJ. He further said that attorneys were injured as a result of the turmoil in the high court.

It is worth noting that Imran Khan was detained in the Al-Qadir Trust case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Rangers officers acting on a warrant issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) apprehended the PTI head from the grounds of Islamabad High Court, where the former premier had gone to seek bail in various charges filed against him.
Khan’s warrants were issued on May 1 by NAB chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt, according to the NAB notification.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated on Twitter that Imran has failed to appear in court after receiving many notices in the investigation.
“The arrest has been conducted by the National Accountability Bureau for causing losses to the national treasury,” he stated.
According to preliminary reports, the PTI leader has been transported to the Rawalpindi headquarters of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
