Many users in Pakistan are allegedly unable to access the prominent social media sites Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram on Tuesday evening.

Users are unable to log in to their accounts on all three sites, according to the outage-tracking website Downdetector.com, which means they cannot publish or read anything.

Downdetector monitors outages by compiling status updates from many sources, including user-submitted faults on its site. A bigger number of customers might have been impacted by the outage.

A big number of smartphone users are also complaining about the inability of WhatsApp to function on both computers and mobile devices.

Furthermore, according to reports, internet speed is poor for many people around the nation.

The partial shutdown of social media platforms and WhatsApp comes as workers and supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stage nationwide rallies after the arrest of party chairman Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Rangers officers detained the former prime minister from the grounds of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) earlier today, executing on a warrant issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Following his detention, the PTI asked followers to protest and “block all roads, close all shops” throughout Pakistan.

Following that, PTI workers protested in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Mardan.

Demonstrators battled with police near Nursery in Karachi. They flung stones at police cars, set fire to them, ripped down street lights, and destroyed a bus. According to accounts, police fired tear gas shells at the demonstrators.

Protesters also caused property damage in other cities, including Rawalpindi and Lahore.
