Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday the formation of a joint investigation team to look into vandalism at civil and military installations, including the residence of the Lahore Corps Commander, during PTI protests following the arrest of their leader Imran Khan in a graft case.

The declaration was made by the chief minister during a visit to the Punjab Safe City Authority’s headquarters to examine the law and order situation. After the inquiry is completed, the JIT will present a thorough report to the government.

Mr Naqvi has also directed that measures be taken to apprehend the perpetrators of the violent attacks, and that geofencing will be implemented in situations involving vandalism. It has also been agreed that all cases would be heard in front of the anti-terrorism court.
