The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has asked the governing political coalition to avoid conducting a sit-in against the court for allegedly preferring PTI chairman Imran Khan, which might jeopardise the judiciary’s integrity and functioning.

To avoid any untoward event, Supreme Court Registrar Ishrat Ali convened a meeting of the Islamabad administration and police for a security briefing.

On Friday, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance, led by JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, organised a protest against the judiciary. On Monday, the sit-in will take place on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad, outside the Supreme Court building.
