The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued letters to the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General of Pakistan on Friday while hearing petitions challenging the detention of PTI officials notwithstanding a court order.

The notifications were given during the hearing of various petitions seeking contempt of court proceedings against police personnel in the aftermath of the re-arrest of PTI Senior Vice-President Shireen Mazari, Ali Muhammad Khan, and Maleeka Bukhari after they had been granted release.

The court directed that IG Akbar Nasir Khan respond to the notice by Monday (May 22).
