On Friday, a man was killed and 22 others were injured when a hand grenade was hurled at police officers near Marwat Market on Bannu Road in Tank.

According to District Police Officer Waqar Ahmad, an exchange of fire occurred near Civil Lines between police and the assailants. He stated that one of the attackers was wounded and brought into prison.

Police cordoned off the area and began a search. He stated that all of the injured had been sent to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital.
