LAHORE (Web Desk) – In a crucial step, officials seized Khadija Shah, a prominent activist linked with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Tuesday for her suspected participation in the May 9 Jinnah House assault.

The arrest was made today at the CIA Iqbal Town headquarters under the supervision of senior superintendent of police CIA (Criminal Investigation Agency), Malik Liaquat. The arrest was carried out by DSP CIA (deputy superintendent of police CIA) Muhammad Ali Butt.

DSP CIA Muhammad Ali Butt took Khadija Shah into custody upon her arrival at the CIA Iqbal Town headquarters, formalising her detention. The inquiry, however, did not end there, as CIA agents subsequently apprehended Khadija Shah’s husband, Jahanzeb, in connection with the case.

Both people are currently in police custody, and officials have launched an extensive investigation.

Khadija Shah is accused of being part in the assault on Jinnah House during the PTI demonstrations on May 9.
