In order to look into the destruction and arson that occurred at the Jinnah House during the rallies organised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Punjab Home Department constituted a joint investigative team (JIT).

Aqeela Niaz Naqvi, SSP Investigation Iqbal Town, has been chosen to serve as the JIT’s chairman. The JIT also includes four Punjab Police officials as members.

After Mr. Khan was taken into custody from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) grounds in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9, violent demonstrations broke out.

In retaliation for the PTI leader’s detention, his party members destroyed a dozen military facilities, including the Mianwali airfield and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House.
