The Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) review appeal on its April 4 order to hold elections in Punjab on May 14 was delayed for an extended term by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday.

The case was resumed by a three-member panel led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. The bench is made up of Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar.

Sujeel Swati, lawyer for the ECP, gave his arguments on the plea. The federal and caretaker Punjab administrations both responded.
