BARCELONA – Lionel Messi said on Wednesday that he will sign with Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, bypassing a reunion with Barcelona or a lucrative agreement to play in Saudi Arabia.
The 35-year-old Argentine attacker has spent the last two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, where he will play his farewell game on Saturday, after transferring from Barcelona in 2021, where he spent the most of his career.
MLS and Inter Miami both acknowledged the news on social media, while the American league stated that “work remains to be completed to finalise a formal agreement.”
