Authorities warned people to keep away from coastlines as a strong cyclone named “Biparjoy” approached Pakistan’s coastline after intensifying.

As the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) “BIPARJOY” over the east central Arabian Sea maintains its strength and is only 760 kilometres from Karchi and 750 kilometres from Thatta, officials in Sindh and Balochistan have issued red alerts and prohibited swimming and fishing in coastal regions.

Under Section 144, the government of Karachi, a port city in the south, put a full stop to entering into the open sea for sailing, fishing, swimming, or bathing.
