Engineer Khurram Dastgir, the energy minister, travelled to Jhimpir, a rural region in Sindh’s Thatta district, on Thursday to observe the restoration efforts put in place after Biparjoy’s high winds destroyed a transmission line.

He said that the eight impacted electricity pylons of the 132KV transmission line, which had fallen over the previous day, were being repaired by the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) and would be finished in three days.

The Indus, Liberty I, and Liberty II wind power facilities, which were built in the Jhimpir region, are linked to the national grid by way of this transmission line via the neighbouring grid station.
