Zaheer Ahmed, a Pakistani officer, has received a distinguished award from the United States in commemoration of his hard efforts to stop human trafficking.

The 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report Hero award was presented to Zaheer Ahmed, who is presently the Deputy Inspector General of the Pakistani Police Service and previously directed the Federal Investigative Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Smuggling Unit.

Eight awardees, including Mr. Ahmed, received accolades from US State Secretary Antony Blinken. The US publishes the TIP report once a year.
