An application for the physical remand of PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the money laundering case was denied by a court in the capital of Punjab on Wednesday. The application was made by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The decision was made public by Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Virk when he imprisoned the former chief minister on judicial remand. The politician had been physically detained for 14 days by the FIA in order to be questioned about the issue.

He was scheduled to be released after posting bail in a corruption case when the FIA detained him earlier that day.
