Nawaz Sharif, a former prime minister, was exonerated on Saturday by a Lahore accountability court in the plots’ allotment case.
The case was heard by the accountability court. Leader of the PML-N Nawaz Sharif appeared in court through attorney Qazi Misbah.
The former prime minister’s attorney claimed throughout the hearing that the NAB referral was founded on mala fide intention. He said that Nawaz Sharif played no part in the distribution of lands. He added that the lawsuit could not be continued under the new statute.
Judge Rao Abdul Jabbar of the Accountability Court dismissed the charges against Nawaz Sharif of improperly allocating plots after hearing the arguments.
