Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial stated on Saturday that although judges acted in accordance with the law, there were occasionally disagreements about how the law was to be interpreted.

We exercise the utmost caution when using our powers. We investigate issues that are crucial to the law and the public. We treat the law in accordance with the constitution while sitting in the Supreme Court, he remarked.

The top justice stated that the Pakistani Election Commission was a constitutional institution and added that it needed to be strengthened.

Speaking at an SECP (Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan) conference, he suggested hiring legal professionals from the Supreme Court to resolve disputes and stated that the judiciary should make decisions regarding legal matters.
