The Finance Bill 2023-24 was approved by the National Assembly on Sunday, approving the proposed budget of Rs14.480 trillion for the upcoming fiscal year.

In an effort to secure pending monies, the budget was approved under the strict supervision of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). With a resounding majority’s backing, the government was able to get a law through the Upper House of Parliament.

Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf presided over the session earlier as the parliamentarians approved the money bill paragraph by clause.
