Conflict-torn Sudan is on the verge of a “full-scale civil war” that could destabilise the entire region, the UN said on Sunday, following an air strike on a residential area that killed about two dozen civilians.
According to the Ministry of Health, the strike on Khartoum’s sister city Omdurman, in the district of Dar al-Salam, which means “House of Peace” in Arabic, resulted in “22 dead and a large number of civilians.”
After nearly three months of conflict between Sudan’s competing generals, the air strike is the most recent instance to spark indignation.
