Shah Mahmood Qureshi, vice chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted bail in the May 9 violence case by a district and sessions court in the federal capital.

Further Sessions After hearing arguments from Mr. Qureshi’s attorney Ali Bukhari in the case filed against the former foreign minister at the Khana police station in Islamabad, Judge Muhammad Haroon Shah granted the bail.

The PTI leader also showed up in front of the court to confirm his attendance. Mr. Bukhar stated during the court that his client didn’t see the incident and didn’t make any statements that could be considered inciting. Without providing any proof, he charged that the police had drawn the former minister into the investigation.
