The National Assembly will be dissolved on August 8 in order to make way for the installation of a caretaker government to run the nation’s affairs, as agreed upon by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

According to sources, the general election would take place 90 days after the National Assembly is dissolved. The President, Dr. Arif Alvi, would receive a summary in that regard.

According to sources, the assembly would automatically be dissolved within 48 hours if the president did not sign the report.

Legal czars have also recommended that the National Assembly be dissolved on August 8. On August 12 at 12 a.m., the assembly’s constitutional term will come to an end.
