3Somia Asim, the wife of a civil judge, was granted protective bail by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday in a case involving domestic abuse.

After hearing the petition, Justice Farooq Haider granted her bail till August 1.

A day after accusations that she had torturized a 14-year-old maid at her Sargodha home, police had already filed a complaint against Somia.

According to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police, the Humak police reported the incident to them and filed a case under sections 506 and 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
