On Saturday, a river overflow in the Chishtian tehsil’s Dullah Akko area caused the defensive embankments to collapse, flooding the neighboring towns.

The temporary protective embankment in the Dullah Akko area was breached due to the unusually high flow of water. The break caused the road network connecting many communities to be disrupted, and floodwater reached low-lying neighborhoods, posing challenges for the local population.

More than 900 people who were stuck in the flooded area have been safely evacuated by rescue crews, and additional directions for relocating from the affected areas have been issued owing to rising water levels. The floods have also seriously harmed ripe crops.
