Firecrackers stored in a warehouse burst on Saturday, injuring over 100 people in addition to killing at least nine people, according to officials.

According to Narathiwat’s governor Sanan Phongaksorn, the firecrackers detonated and started a fire at an unauthorized warehouse at the Muno market in the district of Su-ngai Kolok in the southern province, which borders Malaysia.

“There are currently nine deaths, but there may be more,” he claimed, citing the discovery of unidentified human remains.

According to Sanan, 115 people were hurt and taken to the hospital, and 106 of them have since left.
