ISLAMABAD Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court on Saturday withdrew from hearing the appeal over the MPO3-related detention of PTI central leader Shehryar Afridi. The Chief Justice has been asked to take further action on the case.

In order to withdraw from the case, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir ordered that the file be transferred to the Chief Justice’s office. The Chief Justice will decide whether to transfer the case to another bench.

According to the application, which was submitted by Sher Afzal Marwat Advocate, Shehryar Afridi was detained in accordance with MPO 3 at the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad’s request. Afridi is currently detained at Adiala Jail.
