The day began with special prayers for the wellbeing and cohesion of the nation. To honor the nation that has survived numerous storms, a 31-gun salute was fired in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes were fired in each province capital.

At 7:58 am, sirens wailed across the nation, signaling the start of the major flag-raising ceremony at 8 am. Early in the morning, mosques all around the nation rang out with prayers for abundance, unity, and peace.
