President Arif Alvi has requested guidance from the Ministry of Law and Justice on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) letter asserting that the head of state is no longer permitted to set the date for the elections.
The President House announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Alvi had written a letter to the secretary of the ministry over the ECP’s answer to the letter he had submitted for a meeting to determine the election date.
However, the acting law minister, Ahmad Irfan Aslam, said that they had not yet received the aforementioned letter from the president.
