LAHORE- On Friday night, Lahore’s residents’ normal routines were disrupted by heavy rain in numerous regions of the city. However, rain and a strong breeze in the city made the weather pleasant and significantly lowered the temperature, according to Dunya News.
In addition to Lakshmi Chowk, Jail Road, Airport, Gulberg, Upper Mall, Mughalpura, Tajpura, Nishtar Town, Pani wala Talab, Gulshan Ravi, Allama Iqbal Town, Qartaba Chowk, Samanabad, Johar Town, and several more locations, rain was observed across the city.
The Lakshmi Chowk region reported the most rainfall of 75 millimeters, followed by Gulshan Ravi with 68 millimeters, Qartaba Chowk with 61 millimeters, Pani Wala Talab with 52 millimeters, Tajpura with 41 millimeters, Gulberg with 33 millimeters, and Nishtar Town with 29 millimeters.
However, the rain led to water collection on several highways, which slowed down traffic. Additionally, it flooded low-lying regions of Lahore.
The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO)’s over 200 feeders tripped as a result of the rain, cutting out electricity in a number of locations around the city.
Rain, wind, and thundershowers are predicted over the next 24 hours in areas of the Potohar region, Islamabad, upper Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
