LONDON – Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is expected to return to Pakistan in October, according to former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday.

The top leadership of the PML-N determined that Nawaz Sharif will be in Pakistan in October to head the party’s election campaign, Shehbaz Sharif, who is also the party’s president, said in a statement to the media.

Shehbaz Sharif, flanked by Nawaz Sharif and others, said that the PTI leader had damaged the economy and strained international ties.

According to him, the assemblies were dissolved in conformity with the law, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was now in charge of holding free and fair elections. He continued by saying that the PML-N will support the ECP wholeheartedly in its role as a political party.
